Santa Clara, cuban cultural and historical epicenter

santa clara

The capital of Villa Clara, Santa Clara is the perfect place to stop on the way to the East of Cuba.

Santa Clara city is located in the center of the country. And the stay in this cultural and historical province provide a great experience because we can find everything. It’s rich in natural attractions such as the Mogotes of Jumagua, the Water Cave and the thermal waters of the Elguea Hotel.

In advance, I was prepared to make a short stay because my main interest was in the Memorial Mausoleum to Ernesto Che Guevara, an icon of Latin American struggle and detachment. But my plans would be extended a couple of days more, to note that there was much more to explore.

My hosts had in the hostel a catalog with the main attractions of the area: El Mejunje nightclub, the beautiful beach of Caibarién and the picturesque fishing villages on the Hanabanilla Lake. A relaxing bote promenade.

My hobby for capturing moments was totally satisfied to be able to enjoy the exclusive diversity of species in flora and fauna. From colonies of pink flamingos to the most beautiful coral reefs.

I really wanted more because of that I will surely return on my next trip to Cuba. It is a destination that I totally recommend it.
